Santa Lucia
Santa Lucia is a Swedish tradition celebrated on the 13th of December.
It comes from the Christian religion, and it's very famous. It marks the beginning of the Christmas season.
In Sweden, Saint Lucia is an opportunity to gather in public places, schools, businesses, hospital.
The symbolic Lucias are dressed in white robes, and wear crowns with candles on their heads. Accompanied by children of honor, they distribute coffee and rolls with saffron or ginger, sometimes also a spicy drink called Glögg.
On Sunday we went to church to attend the ceremony made by children and on Tuesday, the 13th of December, Swedish teachers sang Lucia's songs for their students.
